If you’re thinking a thought that upsets you, ask yourself, "is it really true?" Then ask yourself how you would feel if it were not true. Sometimes you have to prioritize your thoughts, otherwise, you can get carried away with one idea and let it become an obsessive thought. Your mind is powerful, and if you let certain thoughts control your decision making, you can start to have impaired judgment. When you’re nervous or upset about something you have heard, verify the information before you jump to conclusions. If it’s true, decide how you’re going to handle the situation and think of both sides.
