June 18, 2010, Newsletter Issue #35: Smile When You Don't Feel Like It

Tip of the Week

Give it a good try and smile. It can lift your spirit and reduce some of your stress, especially when it leads to laughter. Laughing increases the feel good endorphins in the brain as well as clears out old air from the lungs, which helps to improve circulation and reduce the production of cortisol.
Sometimes taking a time out from your busy schedule to have lunch with a friend can make your day and even week a little brighter. So if you have a friend who makes you laugh, meet with them often so you can let go a little.
